Big Idea

Hi! Last night there was a very intersting program on HD Net about women in Uganda that are making paper beads to support their families and move out of the slums into real brick homes that they own. You can buy their gorgeous products from this website and all profits go direclty to the women.
Here is what they have to say from the website.
"BeadforLife eradicates extreme poverty by creating bridges of understanding between impoverished Africans and concerned world citizens. Ugandan women turn colorful recycled paper into beautiful beads, and people who care open their hearts, homes and communities to buy and sell the beads.
The beads thus become income, food, medicine, school fees -- and hope. It is a small miracle that enriches us all.
All profits from BeadforLife are invested in
community development projects that generate income and help people work their way out of poverty. "

Midori Ribbon

Hi! Well the New Year is off and running!! This week I had a surprise phone call from Midori Inc. They are a wonderful ribbon company out of Seattle and I LOVE the ribbon that they design: http://www.midoriribbon.com/index_c.cfm?page=_c1&c1=64 . At the end of the month they will be in NYC for the big International Gift Fair and would like to have me put together some ribbon paperclips to give out as a thank you for their customers!

This is one of the goals I had for this year and I am so loving it. Along with showing my creation to the people at the convention they will be passing out my business card too! If there are any pictures I promise to post them here.
Very exciting! ~Kristine
